Most of the body of the protestant church don't even understand what their book, KJV, is all about.?

You've got it backwards Marty. I am a former Catholic and it was the Catholic church that forbid people to read the bible. It was they who put people like Tyndale to death for producing a bible that could be read by the mes. ( The first commandment says to love the Lord our God with all our heart, mind, soul, strength in other words put God first.
