Any good nightlife in kansas city?

me and my friend are both turning 18 in a couple weeks and wanna have a big party with all our friends. we'd really like to go to a dance club in kc but all the clubs i could find on the web were either 21 and over or were considered "trashy" and had shootings there. anyone know of and good place we can go? possibly with rap or electronic?
