I was gutting my house and while scraping up floor tile was told that it may contain asbesdos.?

Does anyone know about the common use of asbesdos in floor tile from the early 1970's? all I could find was that 9 X 9 lenolieum tiles have it quite often and 12 X 12 tiles have it less frequently. The entire house was tiled with the same style and type 12 X 12 floor tiles leading me to think it was replaced after the first floor wore out. I cant remember a new house being sold with all the same tile thru out the whole house. this was a pre fab house from 1971. Any one have any ideas? thanks.
