Cold or flu? (possible swine?)?

It all started with a sore throat for about 24 hours, then came the nose congestion and running and sneezing. After that, I developed a cough with a lot of chest and nasal congestion. What is wierd is now almost 2 weeks later and I am almost starting to feel better, I now have diarrhea. Is it normal to have diarrhea with a cold or the flu. My 2 year old had all the same syptoms a day before I did, so I was a little concerned whether it could be swine flu. I have had lots of colds and the flu, but never with diarrhea at the end. And how long should it last?
